VDSS

VET Delivered
to secondary
students

What is VDSS?

VDSS stands for ‘Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students’. You may also know it as VET DSS, VET in Schools or VETiS.

VDSS is a hands-on program for secondary school students, designed to give them a head start in life by completing a nationally recognised qualification while still attending school.

VDSS students attend classes at Community College Gippsland on a Wednesday or Friday and participate in their regular school program for the rest of the week.

Why take part in VDSS?

  1. Boost your resume with a nationally recognised qualification
  2. Get a feel for potential careers while you are still in school, helping to plan your pathway
  3. Build the skills that employers look for through valuable hands-on industry experience,
  4. Gain credits towards further training or study
  5. Study close to home and experience an adult learning environment

All while still attending school!

How do I sign up?

You need to opt-in to VDSS through your school. Chat to the Careers Counsellor, Pathways Advisor or VET Coordinator at your school to learn more.
