Statement of commitment to child safety
CCG is a child safe organisation that welcomes all children, young people and their families.
CCG is committed to providing a culturally safe and inclusive learning environment where our students are safe and feel safe, where their participation is valued, their views respected, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives.
CCG has zero tolerance for child abuse and takes proactive steps to identify and manage any risks of harm to students in our educational environments.
Our child safe policies, procedures and practices are inclusive of the needs of all children and students.
CCG promotes positive relationships between students and adults and between students and their peers. These relationships are based on trust and respect.
CCG takes proactive steps to identify and manage any risk of harm to students in our school environment. When child safety concerns are raised or identified, we treat these seriously and respond promptly and thoroughly.
Particular attention is given to the child safety needs of Aboriginal students, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, international students, students with disabilities, those unable to live at home, children and young people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex and queer (LGBTIQA+) and other students experiencing risk or vulnerability. Inappropriate or harmful behaviour targeting students based on these or other characteristics, such as racism or homophobia, are not tolerated at our organisation, and any instances identified will be addressed with appropriate consequences.
Child safety is a shared responsibility. Every person involved in our organisation has an important role in promoting child safety and wellbeing and promptly raising any issues or concerns about a child’s safety.
CCG are committed to regularly reviewing our child safe practices, and seeking input from our students, families, staff, and volunteers to inform our ongoing strategies.
The ECG College Enrolment Policy and Procedure provides an outline of the school’s enrolment processes ensuring prospective students may be enrolled in the school in a manner that is fair and transparent. The enrolment policy and procedure set out the principles and framework governing the basis on which students are admitted to the school.
The Plagiarism, Collusion and Cheating policy and procedure provides the standards and expectations for the prevention, detection and management of plagiarism, collusion and cheating within Community College Gippsland
CCG is committed to fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment for everyone. This policy outlines CCG’s intent for the management, prevention and response strategies of any incidents of bullying (including cyberbullying), discrimination and harassment.
The Student Code of Conduct provides the expected standards of acceptable behaviours of all students while attending CCG.
The Complaints and Appeals Policy, supported by the Student Complaint Procedures provides the framework that CCG applies to any complaint or appeal. This applies to complaints that are not related to Child Safety issues.
The ECG College Offsite Activities Excursion Policy provides the framework, duty of care requirements and guidance for planning and implementing excursions and offsite activities for staff and students at CCG. T
This policy provides guidelines for the management and storage of prescribed student medication.
This policy and supporting procedures provide the guidelines for CCG’s management practices and strategies for risk minimisation for people at CCG who have anaphylaxis.
The Student Welfare, Care and Safety Policy and supporting procedures provides the overarching framework for management of Welfare, Care and Safety for students who attend CCG while on and off campus.
This policy outlines our commitment to the health safety and welfare of all stakeholders and providing an acceptable healthy environment consistent with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and any updates.
The Online Service Standards provide students with information on how CCG implements provision of training and assessment practices that may be offered through a blended delivery model of online and face to face training dependent on the course.
The Code Red Fire Days Policy provides the emergency management guidelines implemented by CCG when the fire danger has been declared Code Red by the Victorian Government.
The Information and Communications Technology Policy provides clear guidance and standards on the use of information and communications technology facilities.
The Information Privacy Policy details CCG and ECG College’s commitment to positive management of personal and confidential information to comply with legislation and to protect staff, students, volunteers and stakeholders from unauthorised or accidental disclosure of confidential information.
