Starting over in Australia
After moving to Australia in 2025, Reubun D’Silva found that landing an IT role wasn’t as straightforward as he’d hoped. To build confidence and connect with his local community, he started volunteering with the Salvation Army, an experience that helped strengthen his communication and customer service skills.
A few months later, Reubun met the CCG team at a Workways Job Fair and was supported to explore a pathway into healthcare. Through the Launch into a Role in Health program and a work placement at Latrobe Regional Hospital, he gained practical workplace skills and valuable insight into IT in a hospital setting and he’s now working towards his Google IT Certification as he continues pursuing entry-level IT opportunities.
