A new chapter for ECG Leongatha campus

September 7, 2026

We celebrated a proud moment for ECG Secondary College (ECG), Leongatha campus, with the official sod-turning ceremony marking the beginning of its exciting expansion.

Made possible through a $1.89 million Victorian Government investment, the project will create more space, new facilities and greater opportunities for students, while supporting the continued growth of ECG in South Gippsland.

The expansion will include five new classrooms, a student common room, new amenities, a student workshop, outdoor learning areas and two multi-purpose hard courts, along with associated paving and landscaping.

We were delighted to mark the occasion alongside the Mayor of South Gippsland Shire and Cr. Steve Finlay, representatives from local schools and education partners, local community, ECG students and staff, CCG CEO Dale Gemmell, ECG Principal Russel Praetz and Leongatha Campus Principal Bridget Cornish.

The sod turning marks more than the start of construction; it marks the beginning of a new chapter for ECG Leongatha and greater opportunities for young people to continue to engage in learning, connect and thrive in South Gippsland.

We look forward to watching the campus take shape and welcoming more students into their expanded learning environment.
