Free Short Courses Target Local Skill Shortages

Community College Gippsland (CCG) is helping Gippslanders build brighter futures with a suite of FREE short courses aimed at tackling local skill shortages and supporting people into meaningful employment.
Whether you’re looking to upskill, explore a new career, or improve your language, literacy, and digital confidence, CCG offers practical training options to suit every learner, including in-class learning, traineeships, and apprenticeships.
Since 1975, CCG has delivered accessible education to people of all ages and backgrounds. Today, the focus remains clear: provide industry-aligned training that prepares people for real jobs in high-demand sectors like early childhood education and care, individual support, aged care and disability, hairdressing, horticulture, and business.
As an ACFE Learn Local provider, CCG offers welcoming, supportive environments that help adults build confidence and take the next step into further training or employment. Free programs are now running at CCG’s Warragul and Morwell campuses, thanks to strong partnerships with local employers including West Gippsland Health Care Group, Little Saints Early Learning Centre, Signature Care, Latrobe Regional Health and Latrobe City Council.
“Our programs are crafted to meet the needs of both learners and the local workforce,” said Dale Gemmell, CEO of CCG. “By offering courses that are tailored to address skill shortages and industry demands, we aim to facilitate career development within the community.”
With cost-free programs for eligible applicants, now is the perfect time to begin your next chapter.
