CCG and Local Job Agencies Unite for Success at Learn + Earn Expo
Community College Gippsland (CCG) welcomed job seekers, students, and community members to their Warragul campus on 14 August for their inaugural Learn + Earn Expo. The event, in collaboration with leading job agencies and industry partners, created a valuable platform for career exploration and networking in the fields of Business, Individual Support, Early Childhood Education and Care, Hair and Beauty, and Horticulture.
Featuring 10 exhibitors, including Apprenticeship Support Australia, Baptcare, Clarity Services, Federation University, Hays Recruitment, JobFind, Little Saints Early Learning Centre, Maxima, Skills & Jobs, and Workways – Transition to Work, the event showcased a wide range of local opportunities and study paths. Throughout the afternoon, visitors explored options for upskilling, apprenticeships, and traineeships, while exhibitors provided insights into in-demand jobs and necessary qualifications.
Attendees were able to connect directly with local businesses, receive career guidance, and learn about training pathways that can help them reach their goals. Experts were on hand to offer advice on resume enhancement, application processes, and interview preparation, ensuring visitors were equipped with the tools needed to succeed in their job search.
The Learn + Earn Expo also facilitated meaningful interactions between job agencies and potential employers in the Aged and Disability Care, Business, Education, Horticulture, and Hair and Beauty sectors. These interactions provided job seekers with direct access to local employment opportunities and the skills required to secure them.
The event further highlighted CCG’s commitment to accessible education, with fee-free courses and rolling enrolments, offering individuals greater flexibility to start their educational journey at their convenience, making study more achievable than ever before. CCG’s initiatives affirm its dedication to empowering individuals, supporting local skills development, and fostering community prosperity.
CCG’s CEO Dale Gemmell said that “we are committed to contributing to our local communities beyond just providing quality education. Through events like the Learn + Earn Expo, we bring together like-minded organisations and jobseekers to explore prospective employment pathways that may lead to a job outcome and hopefully kickstart a meaningful career.”
Den Lim, Business Development Manager said ‘we are appreciative of the support and commitment displayed by our event partners. Their participation enhanced our event and provided additional layers of support for our job seekers and prospective students. We’re looking forward to making this event bigger and better next year’.
