Learning Support Officer – Dandenong

ECG Secondary College is an independent senior school providing an alternative pathway to secondary education for students seeking a different learning environment. We support young people to achieve their goals by developing the skills and confidence needed to enter the workforce or pursue further study.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Officer to join our team. This role involves working closely with teaching staff to support students with diverse learning needs and to help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The successful candidate will help ensure that all students can access the curriculum and educational resources through a flexible, student-centred approach.

The role

  • Build and maintain professional, respectful relationships with students using a strengths‑based approach
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and wellbeing staff to support student learning, engagement, and inclusion
  • Provide flexible individual and group support across classrooms and learning environments
  • Support the implementation of effective classroom management strategies aligned with organisational policies
  • Communicate student progress, learning needs, and any behavioural or wellbeing concerns promptly to relevant staff
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative tasks using the student management system (Compass), including:
    • Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
    • Funding submissions
    • Attendance records
    • Student progress notes
    • Incident and behaviour reports
  • Assist with student supervision and support during excursions, school camps, and other out‑of‑school activities as required

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent (or willingness to undertake study)
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Clear Police Check
  • Level 2 First Aid
