Social Enterprise 101: Build a Business That Makes a Difference

This beginner-friendly program is designed for people who care deeply about the world around them and want to turn that passion into a sustainable business.

If you are:

  • Thinking about starting a business and care about the environment
  • Already running a business and want to become more sustainable
  • Curious about how business can be used for good

Then, Social Enterprise 101 is the place to begin.
You don’t need a business plan. You don’t need experience. Just a desire to create change.

Social Enterprise 101 is a three-part learning experience where you’ll:

  • Discover what a social enterprise is and how it works
  • Explore the role of business in tackling environmental challenges
  • Identify a problem you care about and begin designing a solution
  • Build a prototype product or service that aligns with your values
  • Connect with like-minded people who also want to make a difference
  1. Introduction to Social Enterprise
    Learn how purpose-driven businesses are changing the world and why they matter now more than ever.
  2. Kicking Off: Your Hands-On Guide
    Define your mission, explore environmental issues that inspire you, and start shaping your business idea.
  3. Getting Your Hands Dirty
    Create and test your own product or service idea that helps the planet. Walk away with a real concept and practical next steps.

  • Existing business owners ready to operate more sustainably
  • Creatives, community members, and innovators
  • Anyone curious about ethical, green entrepreneurship

No prior business experience needed, just a passion to create change.       

  • 17 years or older and not enrolled at school
  • Be a citizen or a permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand
  • Duration: 13 sessions
  • Date: Classes will run on Fridays from 15 August to 21 November from 9.30 to 3pm
